CE215 Early Childhood Curriculum Planning
COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course, students will study teaching methods for educational settings that serve young
children. Attention will be given to developmental domains, strategies for planning, organizing
the learning environment, facilitating teacher-child interactions, guiding children’s behavior,
conducting lessons, assessing, care giving, supporting play, and addressing standards through
integrated and emergent curriculum.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:
CE215-1: Discuss the domains of development to be considered in curriculum planning.
CE215-2: Apply developmentally appropriate practices to curriculum planning in early
childhood settings.
CE215-3: Describe the effect play-based activities have on the learning of children.
CE215-4: Discuss how the behavior of children is affected by the learning environment.
