Drafting and Peer Reviewing: Get Ready to Revise and Finalize your Unit 8 Assignment
Your Unit 8 Discussion Board is a revised draft of your Unit 6 Assignment that incorporates 3-4 sources to help support, develop, and validate your ideas. The feedback you receive from your classmates and instructor will help you with revising this draft even further, as well as help you ensure your Unit 8 Assignment credits all source information appropriately.
INITIAL POST
Complete the revision of your Unit 6 Assignment that you began in Unit 7. Then copy/paste this draft version of your Unit 8 Assignment to the Discussion Board. Your draft should be around 4 paragraphs, include 3-4 peer-reviewed secondary sources, as well as credit these sources with in-text citations and a Reference list.
Don’t worry if your draft is not perfect or if your citations still need work. The goal is to post what you have at this point so you can get helpful feedback you can use for revising this paper and making sure your sources are used and cited effectively. Remember that you can also get additional feedback and help with the revision process by meeting with a PG Writing Center Writing Specialist or submitting your draft to the PGWC’s Paper Review Service.
Be sure to also assess your draft at this point. Review the Unit 8 Assignment rubric and explain what you have done so far to meet/exceed the requirements outlined there and what you will need to do to meet/exceed ALL expectations outlined in the Unit 8 Assignment rubric.
NOTE: Remember that your goal should be to post your initial discussion by Saturday so you have time to focus on other tasks. Remember to include a relevant open-ended question that helps your classmates help you with improving your thesis, development, organization, use of sources, or citations. Each response should be at least 100 words long and should include relevant questions aimed at engaging your classmates and helping them to reflect on their draft, use of sources, and citations. Include references to Unit reading material and concepts in your responses to help validate your suggestions about writing improvement.
FOLLOW UP RESPONSES: Also respond to questions and comments your classmates and instructors post in their responses. Each follow-up response should be around 50 words.
