Prepare for Success in your Unit 2 Assignment
By the end of this unit, you will apply your writing, reading, and research skills to complete your first paper, a two-paragraph assignment analyzing either a blog post, journal article, or business report. Remember that your goal should be to post your initial discussion by Saturday so you can then focus on other tasks also due in the Unit. Begin by reviewing the Unit 2 Assignment instructions.
INITIAL POST
In your Unit 2 Discussion Board, you will generate ideas for this assignment, identifying the document you chose to read and write about in the Unit 2 Assignment and identifying some possible details you may need to include in your Unit 2 Assignment. Use the following questions to help you with generating ideas about the document you chose to read and write about.
For your initial post, use the following downloadable Brainstorming Chart to generate relevant information about the blog post, journal article or Business report you are going to write about in the Unit 2 Assignment. Then, in two or more paragraphs, explain what you learned about effective writing from reading the blog post, article, or report you selected.
Be sure to include an open-ended question at the end of your post to help your classmates with responding effectively to your concerns. Please also refer to and credit the unit reading concepts to help validate your ideas and give you practice with using and crediting source information.

RESPONSES TO INITIAL POSTS
Respond to at least two of your classmates’ initial posts. Engage in a discussion of elements of the article identified above. Ask questions that may help your classmate to more precisely analyze these elements of the document. Each response should be at least 100 words long. Aim to include and give credit to references to unit reading material in your responses to help validate your information and give you credit for using sources.
Respond to the issues and questions your classmates and instructors raise about your initial post. Each response should be around 50 words or more.
