Your textbook, Film: From Watching to Seeing, makes a distinction between story and plot, stating that story is what happens in a movie, and plot is how it happens. The distinction may seem minor; however, throughout this course, you will be scrutinizing the various aesthetic choices and cinematic techniques that work together to create meaning, develop characters’ motivations, and advance the plot in any movie. - A plot summary is a compressed description of what happens in the film and why.

The film focuses on Oskar Schindler, a factory owner who hires a Jewish workforce to save them from the persecution of the Nazi party.
Nazi Germany has occupied Poland, and soldiers are forcing Jews to move out of their homes. At the same time this is happening, Oskar Schindler is hiring a workforce for his new factory. As the Nazis being to exterminate the Jewish people, it creates a problem for Oskar Schindler as they begin to take his workers……
