Nr361 Week 2: Experiences Answer
The pivotal role of health information systems in nursing practice, as highlighted by Hebda and Czar (2013), is indispensable for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of patient care delivery. In my current professional domain, I have garnered significant experience with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, with eClinicalWorks and Care360 standing out as the primary ones.
Through engagement with these systems, I have effectively improved communication among nurses and physicians within the healthcare setting. The significance of EHR systems, elucidated by Wager and Glaser (2017), extends beyond mere communication enhancement, as they play a critical role in elevating the quality and safety of patient care, introducing a myriad of organizational enhancements.
In navigating patient care, EHR systems not only facilitate seamless communication but also contribute to the provision of higher quality and safer care. The organizational benefits they bring about further underscore their indispensable role in modern nursing practices.
