Do the three literary texts that you read this week attribute power equally to women’s bodies? Consider the kind of power as well as the degree of power as you discuss the capability of the physical body in each text.

The three texts this week do not attribute power equally to women’s bodies.
The poem “Now That I Am Forever with Child” attributes power to women’s bodies the most. This is because it describes the changes women’s bodies go through when they are pregnant/during and after birth. The physical body of a woman adapts to growing life within. They are strong enough to endure the “swelling changed planes” (Line 3) of their bodies. “My legs were towers between which a new world was passing” (Lines 19-20). Women are the only beings powerful enough to grow life within and bring it into the world……..
