PS300 Unit 2 Discussion
In the field of psychology, it is essential that research be conducted ethically. This is important for protecting research participants from potential harm and ensuring that their rights are not violated. Often, many different people work on a research project. Anyone who is part of a research study can run into ethical issues. At these times, the choice made can have a significant impact for the participant, the study, and the person who is making the choice.
Watch the video The Research Clinic.
Choose which role you want to assume (Principal Investigator, Study Coordinator, IRB Administrator, or Research Assistant), and please respond to the following:
- Discuss two of the choices you had to make, and explain what you learned about ethical issues from these choices.
- How can the choices made within the role you chose affect the outcome of the study and those who are participating in the study?
- What factors (e.g., personal, funding, stress) might sometimes lead to unethical choices?
Try to respond to two peers who each chose different roles than you chose. This will help you to learn more about the choices that can be faced by different people in regard to a research study.
In order to earn credit for your peer responses, please be sure that your posts are both substantial and relevant to the topic of research methods.

PS300 Unit 2 Discussion Answer
To be honest, there is not a role given to choose from that i would like. For me I would absolutely want to be the President and put a stop to this detrimental study before allowing it to even start! We are far advanced in medicine and science, so conducting a research study that has the ability to cause death is something terrible and of the past and long since learned and advanced from, shame on this company!
