PS300 Unit 9 Discussion
This week, you learned about different sources of error/bias, including threats to internal validity, limitations in interpreting correlations, errors that affect the accuracy of participant self-report, and observer bias. Choose one possible source of error/bias and create a scenario that depicts this source of error/bias in action. Consider responding to posts from peers who chose a different source of error/bias than you did.
Please respond to the following:
- What source of error/bias did you choose?
- How does this type of error/bias affect study results?
- Describe a research study in which this source of error/bias is present. What type of research methodology is being used?
- What is one way that a researcher could try to reduce, or work around, this type of error/bias?
In order to earn credit for your peer responses, please be sure that your posts are both substantial and relevant to the topic of research methods.
PS300 Unit 9 Discussion Answer
The two variable I would focus on is aba teaching in a school setting for those students that are falling behind or have a hard time concentrating. My research question is does ABA teaching help students in a school setting? The hypothesis will be ABA does positively help students. The independent variable would be the teaching method and the dependent variable is the test scores. I would randomly assign the students to the new teaching aba and the standard method of teaching in order to compare the outcome and test scores. I would use experimental desigOne source of error and bias
