In the first three units, you have been introduced to developmentally appropriate practices and learning styles. For this Assignment, you will select an age group (2–3, 3–4, or 4–5) and create a developmentally appropriate activity plan for an early childhood environment or setting for your selected age group. The activity should incorporate active learning with direct hands-on experiences, align to at least one learning style, and meet cultural diversity needs.

Using the Unit 3 Assignment Template, include the following in your plan:

  • Create a name for your activity.
  • Identify the age group selected and provide a clear description of how the activity is developmentally appropriate and offers a direct hands-on experience for the children.
  • Explain how your understanding of the three primary components of DAP helped you develop this activity.
  • Describe the objective of your activity by explaining what the children will learn or be able to do at the conclusion of the activity.
  • List any materials needed by the educator(s) or the children to perform/complete the activity.
  • List the sequence of events to perform the activity, starting with how the educator(s) will introduce the activity to the children and ending with the completion of the activity.
  • Identify one dominant learning style and explain how it is used in the activity.
  • Identify one element in the activity that meets cultural diversity needs and explain how it is used in the activity.
