Karo-kari is a term referring to “black male” and “black female,” respectively, metaphoric terms referring to those who commit unacceptable premarital or extra-marital relations (Patel & Gadit, 2014). In other words, it is an honor killing for an individual involved in illicit sexual activities outside wedlock. Since the pre-Islamic era, these practices have been based on patriarchal traditions. Arab settlers in Baluchistan next to Sindh, Pakistan, had strongly patriarchal traditions that involved burying alive unwanted newborn daughters (Patel & Gadit, 2014, p. 188)……..
