Nr361 Week 8: Reflective Answer
The AACN essentials stand as foundational pillars within the nursing profession, serving as catalysts for innovation and academic excellence in the field (Schmalenberg, 2017). Remarkably, my journey from week 1 to week 8 of this course reflects a substantial improvement in my scores, progressing from 31 to 42. This noteworthy development underscores the course’s pivotal role in elevating my competencies in informatics, a critical domain in contemporary nursing practice.
One of the key essentials that witnessed improvement is the adept application of safeguards and decision-making support tools intricately integrated into patient care. Over the duration of this course, I gained insights into various support tools that significantly contribute to informed decision-making in nursing practice. Hebda and Czar (2013) highlight the significance of tools such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in facilitating efficient and effective decision-making processes.
This enhancement in my understanding and application of decision-making support tools not only aligns with AACN essentials but also underscores the pivotal role of informatics in elevating the quality of patient care. The integration of these tools into nursing practice is a testament to the dynamic nature of healthcare education and its commitment to shaping adept and technologically literate nursing professionals.
