NR500 Week 5: Artistic Expression Answer

Holistic Caring in Nursing: A Personal Perspective

Within the canvas of nursing, the artistry unfolds when practitioners move beyond the confines of patients’ signs and symptoms, delving into richer and more holistic relationships that transcend the mere preservation of physical health (Park & Kim, 2016). This exploration into the concept of caring in nursing underscores its profound impact on the patients’ physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. This reflective paper aims to elucidate my personal definition of caring, incorporating holistic care principles, examining how artistic expression mirrors the essence of caring, and culminating in a thoughtful conclusion.NR500 Week 5: Artistic Expression

Definition of Caring

In my perception, nursing is an amalgamation of art and science, with a distinct emphasis on humanistic science that finds its core in caring. As a nurse, my commitment to holistic care extends beyond addressing physical symptoms, encompassing the mental and emotional dimensions of illness to enhance the body-mind-spirit health and well-being of my patients. This commitment propels me towards lifelong learning, continuously refining my competence to deliver comprehensive patient care.NR500 Week 5: Artistic Expression

Caring, to me, entails upholding the professional values of nursing, ensuring timely and exceptional care for patients irrespective of their backgrounds. Compassion and empathy form the cornerstone of this caring ethos, translating into considerate and kind treatment for all individuals under my care. Confidence, an essential attribute for nurses, enables the unwavering commitment to care, even amidst challenging circumstances.NR500 Week 5: Artistic Expression
