NURS 6053N Discussion – Week 5 Discussion 2: Your Leadership Profile
NURS 6053N Discussion – Week 5. Do you believe you have the traits to be an effective leader? Perhaps you are already in a supervisory role, but as has been discussed previously, appointment does not guarantee leadership skills.
How can you evaluate your own leadership skills and behaviors? You can start by analyzing your performance in specific areas of leadership. In this Discussion, you will participate in a leadership assessment tool, reflect on the results, and examine how the results relate to your leadership traits.
To Prepare:
- Complete the CliftonStrengths Assessment, provided in the Resources.
- Reflect on the results of your Assessment, and consider how the results relate to your leadership traits.
By Day 3 of Week 5
Post a brief description of your CliftonStrengths Assessment profile. Then, briefly describe two core values, two strengths, and two characteristics that you would like to strengthen based on the results of your Assessment profile. Be specific.
NURS 6053N Discussion – Week 5 Answer
The CliftonStrengths Assessment tool has identified my top five dominant themes as responsibility, achiever, developer, futuristic, and relator. Being an achiever signifies my relentless drive for continuous accomplishment, where tangible successes, whether on workdays, weekends, or vacations, contribute to my sense of fulfillment (Harms, 2017).
The responsibility theme compels me to embrace psychological ownership and unwavering accountability for all commitments, emphasizing completion from initiation without room for excuses or rationalizations. As a developer, my focus lies in recognizing others’ potential and fostering their success by providing challenges and engaging experiences that promote growth. This aligns with the belief that everyone has the capacity for advancement and success (Harms, 2017).
