Food insecurity is disruption of food intake due to poverty, or lack of means to access the required nutritious food. In the US 1 in 9 Americans are food insecure. This translates to 37 million Americans, which includes 13 million children. Thus, food insecurity in the US is a serious issue, and it has been aggravated by the current pandemic. With the loss of jobs, Americans are continuing to face serious food insecurity today as we fight Covid19. Children are the most affected, by food insecurity in the US.
