This week, you will discuss the importance of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

While the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and the Individualized Education Program (IEP) are very similar, their functions are for different things. In our reading this week we learned that the IFSP details services that are to be provided to children age 0-3 and their families. It also defines the transition to come at age three (Allen and Cowdery, 2014). The IEP is a mandated document that goes through the services to be provided for children and adolescents between the ages of 3-21.
