Review the following case study of Carly:
Carly will soon be four years old. She walks with the aid of a walker or will scoot across the floor if her walker is not available. Language development is delayed due to hearing impairment. Recently, she began using a picture exchange program to communicate with her family.
Please respond to the following:
- Discuss the numerous ways an early childhood program and its staff could provide a safe and appropriate learning environment for Carly and how to adapt the environment to meet her needs.

Carly has to use a walking aid and is hearing impaired so I believe that teachers need to take extra precautions to ensure floors are always cleared of tripping hazards and maybe she should have a desk that is close to the teacher’s desk that way she is easily accessible if she needs assistance. No rugs would make it easier for her walker to slide across the flooring and make sure that everything is far enough apart for her walker to fit through. The classroom should also have ramps if it isn’t one level that way, she can be more independent and not have to rely on teachers to assist if there are stairs……..
