Your Vision for Future Writing, Reading, and Research Success
Throughout this course, your classmates have provided you with feedback on your writing and you have been evaluated multiple times on your assignment submissions. Now, though, it’s your time to evaluate yourself as a writer and create a plan for continued writing, reading, and research success.
INITIAL POST: After reviewing your Unit 1 Discussion Board and completing your Hawkes Personal Writing Assessment Tool, describe what you see as your greatest success in achieving your writing, reading, and research goals in the past 10 weeks. What area of writing, reading, and research have you seen the most progress and improvement in, and what assignment you have completed in this course best demonstrates your achievement of this goal?
Then, create a brief Vision Board that shows where you think you will be in 5 years as a writer, reader, and researcher and what you need to do between now and then to realize your future vision of yourself. Feel free to be creative. You can simply write out a brief plan, or if you feel adventurous and want to try out a different skill, post a PowerPoint slide, or a short Prezi clip, for example, that demonstrates your vision.
Remember that your goal is to post by Saturday so that you have time to focus on other tasks. Be sure to include an open-ended question that helps your classmates to respond thoughtfully to your post.
RESPONSES TO INITIAL POSTS
Respond to at least two of your classmates’ initial posts. Suggest ways that classmates can achieve their visions. Offer them support and encouragement. Each response should be at least 100 words long and engage classmates. Ask them questions and motivate them to continue the discussion.
RESPONSES TO FOLLOW UP
Respond briefly to the comments and questions your instructor and classmates pose in response to your initial post. Each response should be around 50 words.
