In her essay Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power Audre Lorde argues that “there are many kinds of power, used and unused, acknowledged or otherwise” (Lorde). In her poem, Now That I Am Forever with Child Audre Lorde points the power of a woman in bringing life. She writes;
