SC115 Unit 2 Discussion Are You At Risk For Dehydration?
Title: Are You At Risk For Dehydration?
Without food you could likely survive for days if not weeks. However, without water, you would only survive for a matter of days. Although water does not provide people with energy or calories as food does, it is essential to life and is often overlooked. Think about how much water you may or may not consume during an average day – is it enough? What do you drink? Water? Coffee? Juice? Soda?
Discuss the following in your initial post:
- What are your daily fluid needs?
- Do you meet your fluid needs on a daily basis?
- What factors influence the amount of fluid you need?
- Is it possible to meet your fluid needs without drinking water? Explain why or why not.
- How does the softness or hardness of water affect its healthfulness?
- What are the pros and cons of consuming bottled water?
Take a moment to review the SC115 Discussion Guidelines for additional information on discussion expectations.
SC115 Unit 2 Discussion Are You At Risk For Dehydration? Answer
The MyPlate video has shown me what a full day’s “plate” should look like, based primarily on consuming proper portions of grains, protein, dairy, fruits, and vegetables. I can see I personally have a skewed vision (macros first instead of food groups first) when compared to MyPlate recommendations. I also eat a lot more protein than recommended, and not nearly enough grains or dairy. I’d like to think I can merge the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines, MyPlate, and my macro managing app together to create the most balanced nutrient rich diet……….
